The “shelter for Ukraine” initiative coordinated and initiated by the Alter Pharma Group won the award for Outstanding Community Contribution of the Year at the 18th annual Funds Europe Awards.
The event took place on the 10th of November at the historic Tower of London. This award rewards initiatives that show a positive impact on communities outside of the company in question. The aim of the award is to highlight initiatives such as charitable training, youth placements and other community projects that tackle social challenges.
Together with our majority shareholder The Riverside Company, we are honoured to have received this award and humbled to be nominated among such established names.
In March 2022, the Alter Pharma Group with a group of project and business partners turned a vacant office space in Anderlecht into an emergency shelter for Ukrainian families with children. Today the shelter is managed by Communa, a consortium driven by the Commune of Anderlecht, local Social Services and the Brussels Capital Region and can host up to 160 people.
