JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a talented IT Engineer to be involved in our Shared Services Team.
Reporting to the CIO, you will be responsible for safeguarding A.forall’s digital assets, ensuring confidentiality and integrity and availability of information.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various areas including network management, server administration, cybersecurity activities, management of various IT systems and user training.
As an IT team member, this position will also provide technical support as required by the organisation including assessment of users’ issues, 1st/2nd level support, document incidents and their resolution. The IT Engineer will engage with various IT vendors for escalations and 2nd/3rd level support.
Proprietary system training will be provided, however, a solid understanding of standard software functionality in Windows environment is required.
TASKS
The IT Engineer undertakes full responsibility:
Cybersecurity
- Ensure adherence to best practices for secure system architecture.
- Involved on NIS2 directive implementation and management of CIS Critical Security Controls activities.
- Manage cybersecurity services specific to infrastructure and core systems.
- Drive adoption of secure hardening and configuration practices, security policy implementation with the support of security and infrastructure vendors.
- Manage the user cybersecurity training platform and implement regular training plans.
- Implement/manage M365 and Azure security functionality for the protection of data (encryption, sensitivity labels, DLP), user login (MFA/SSO) and end-points.
- Manage cybersecurity systems and platforms such as password manager & cyber security platforms.
Infrastructure Management (with the support of our Azure 3rd party vendor)
- Responsible for the purchase specifications, installation, maintenance, upgrades and retirement of systems both physical and cloud-based (Azure).
- Setup and manage the company’s LAN (wired & Wi-Fi), VOIP services and WAN
- Oversee the user management for AD and other systems managed by IT (creation, modification, password policies, blocking/deletion, role/rights, etc.).
- Responsible for backup & restore solutions including the regular testing of such for all key systems.
Resource Management
- Collaborates with vendors to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Creation and review of IT standards and procedures, establishing and enforcing best practices.
- Monitoring/reporting, ensuring systems are updated, secure, and available.
- Monitor project progress, risks, and issues, adjusting resources and priorities as needed.
IT Support
- Follow up processes and procedures setup within the IT Department.
- Assist users with IT related requests, incidents or problems and escalating more complex tasks.
- Provisioning & configuration of IT equipment for users (laptops, smart devices, etc.).
- Document all IT requests, incidents/problems and their resolutions as required.
- Maintain an accurate registrar of IT hardware (asset tags) and software.
- Ensure that there is always available stock of equipment and accessories.
- Help setup and maintain warehouse equipment (scanners, printers, labelling machines, temperature controllers, etc.).
- Review and check CCTV and other security equipment as required.
Documentation & Training
- Update the IT Wiki with any new or modified information related to the IT systems.
- Transfer of relevant knowledge to team members & users.
- Attend job-related training

YOUR PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong technical knowledge in networking, server administration, and security.
- Detail orientated, self-motivated and a good finisher
- Ability to prioritize and respond timely to changing requirements, and to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately
- Fluent English with excellent communication skills (written and oral). French/Dutch a bonus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have sense of ownership and responsibility
- Punctual, attentive, and diligent
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 3-5 years in a similar role (Pharmaceutical experience preferable)
- Good knowledge of Windows 11
- Experience with cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure & M365
- Cybersecurity
- Access management, identity management, policy risk analysis, database security, firewall design, and internetworking technology.
- Experience in data projects (integration/transformation/conversion) a bonus
- Experience with end-user and support
EDUCATION
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, ITIL) are advantageous.
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Ability to read, interpret, and verify data from various formats.
- Data administration, design, and architecture
- Ability to analyse, model and interpret data
- Aware of ALCOA framework for data security and integrity
- Business process mapping and process modelling (Visio, etc.)
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, SQL and web languages (JS, PHP, CSS) is a plus
- Familiarity with Linux environments is advantageous
