JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for a talented Consultant Senior accountant to be involved in our Pharmacy House Business Unit, on an initial 6 month contract  (with the possibility of extension). The successful candidate must have accounting knowledge and has at least +/- 7 years of relevant experience in a similar function in a similar environment.

You will be responsible for the monthly/quarterly/yearly closing for three Belgian entities and 1 NL entity.  You will report directly to the business unit Finance Manager and will be based in Anderlecht, Belgium.

Tasks
  1. Day to day:
    1. You are responsible to ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions.
    2. Close follow-up of AP/AR/Bank processes and work closely together with the AP/AR accountant.
    3. Maintenance of the master data concerning AP/AR
    4. Prepare payment proposals for review by Treasury manager + preparing Isabel
    5. Follow up of the interfaces between systems to record the sales
  2. Monthly and Annual Closing
    1. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
    2. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
    3. Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
    4. Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards
    5. Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support
    6. Summarizes financial status by collecting/reviewing the information with a critical mindset and reports balance sheet and P&L
    7. Declaring VAT/intrastat & NBB statistics
    8. Performing COGS reconciliation to ensure correct P&L of the margin
    9. Assists in ad-hoc requests
  3. SAP implementation
    1. Leading & verifying SAP implementation concerning:
      • Inventory
        • Purchase orders – receipt of goods – invoicing
        • Valuation
        • Sales orders – deliveries – invoicing
      • AR dunning
YOUR PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

The successful candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent and has at least +/-  7 years of relevant experience in a similar function.

You have knowledge about accounting principles and are eager to learn more. SAP knowledge is an asset.
